After a fun weekend in Wisconsin with our pals Architects of the Aftermath, we’re taking this weekend off. Thanks to Ahab’s Ghost for filling in at the last second and all the folks that came out to Frank’s Power Plant on Friday. Thanks also to Sunni Daze (of Moss Folk) for inviting us to be a part of his great party on Saturday.
Coming up on Friday, August 17th we’re going to be making one of our first trips to Columbus, OH in almost three years! We’ll be joining The Receiver, Moon High, and The Kyle Sowashes at Kobo for Josh Rae’s Turning 30 / Graduation / Going Away Party. Doors open at 8pm, show starts at 9. $5.00. 21+.
The next night, we’re coming back to MOTR in Cincinnati, OH to play with our friends Children of the Emerald Fire. This show is FREE and All Ages. Music starts at 10:30pm.
And for the big Cincy-related news: We’ve been invited to play this year’s MidPoint Music Festival, happening September 27-29 in Downtown Cincinnati and the Over-the-Rhine district. So far, the lineup includes Dinosaur Jr., Best Coast, Dirty Projectors, Cloud Nothings and many others. Tickets are available now at CincyTicket.com, but they’re going fast. All Venues during MPMF are 21+. We’ll update again once we know when and at what venue we’re playing.
Right off, thanks to everyone that checked us out this past weekend on our short tour with Velvet Elvis. We had a great time and enjoyed seeing so many of our friends again.
The first, yellowish-orange vinyl pressing of Spectra Spirit is SOLD OUT! If you didn’t get one, fear not! The second pressing is now available on multi-colored vinyl. Seriously, there’s at least six different colors available. Collect them all! EDIT: We’ve also found eight more copies of the first, self-titled LP and have made them available to purchase in the store.
This coming weekend (August 3rd and 4th) we will be in the Badger State playing a couple awesome gigs. On the 3rd we’ll be at Frank’s Power Plant with our very good friends, Milwaukee thrashers Architects of the Aftermath. The next night, we’ll be trippin’ under the stars at the Sunny Daze Music Mass in Glenbeulah, WI. This is a free, BYOB & Food event, and camping is encouraged. Hit the link to check out the awesome bands that will be playing, starting at noon.
We have a few more shows coming up over the next couple months, including a few trips to Cincy. Check the Tour page for more details. Thanks a lot to everyone that has been coming out and spreading the word!

We’re playing some shows over the next couple weeks leading up to some appearances around Austin playing a few cool parties that just so happen to be occurring at the same time as a large annual music festival. The first one is… Tonight! The awesome folks at New Fortune Records are having a label showcase at the Polish National Alliance as part of the 15th Annual Metro Times Blowout in Hamtramck, MI. Le Ren will be kicking things off at 9, followed by Passalacqua, us and then House Phone. House Phone and Passalacqua are also releasing a new split 7″ at the show, so grab a copy while you’re there.
Once we’re all Blown-Out, it’ll be time to pack up and head south. We’ll be swinging through The Drinkery in Cincinnati, OH on March 9th with Dead Beat Dolls and Perfect Norm before hitting the sun-drenched streets of Austin. There we’ll be playing three parties, the first one on March 13th at Guero’s Taco Bar, presented by fellow New Fortune Records artists The Boxing Lesson and Austin’s OVRLD music blog. We’ll be on at 6pm, so come by and let us serenade you while you enjoy dinner. Then, on March 14th at 1am we’ll be wrapping up Emerald City Limits at (or around) Spider House Cafe. Finally, on March 15th we’re at Tom’s Tabooley. We’re on at 3pm this time, so swing by early and check it out!
