we’ll own those banks of marble

January 20th, 2015

We’re excited to announce that, this spring, we will be able to present you with nine sparkling new tracks. We’ve been sweating in the music mines this past year in order to bring you only the most finely-crafted psych rock. We’ve spent months blasting out the best rhythms and digging up pure tones. We’ve sifted out all of the loose beats and tumbled away the rough chords. Eric Oppitz has selected only the most fiery cuts guaranteed to mesmerize.
Mongolic Records
We are also very stoked to announce that our new album will be available in Europe through Spain’s Mongolic Records, so hopefully friends across the pond won’t have to spend more on shipping than on the actual record. More information will be forthcoming as we get closer to the pressing date.

Echo Fest V

Its fall and you know what that means. Its Echo Fest season. This year is shaping up to be the best one yet!

12 Bands on two stages filled with swirling lights, fuzzed out guitars, and of course so much delay that time travel may become possible.

Each attendee will receive a free pair of diffraction glasses which separates light into huge rainbow star bursts to transform the already trippy light show into the the most intense visual experience of your life.

Don’t forget to RSVP to the events page (here) to receive discounted tickets at the door.

#DetroitFlood

Before > During > After

So this is what is left of our practice space after being completely gutted. We took on about two feet of water due to all the rain and recent flooding in the Detroit area. We managed to save a majority of the gear but are still sorting through things. Please send positive vibes or better yet send us drugs and beer!

MPMF / O+

We’ve been talking about it for… what, two years now? But we’re finally (really) about to start recording our third full-length! (No, seriously this time!) Those of you who saw us performing back in late April / early May have already had a sneak peek at what’s coming. Stay tuned for details and maybe some behind-the-scenes views.

Official Midpoint Music Festival Press Release: “The 13th annual [MPMF] festival will present three exciting days of live music on 14 stages in the Over-the-Rhine and Downtown neighborhoods.”

October 10th will find us at the O+ Festival (O Positive) in Kingston, NY. Some details and an initial list of artists are available HERE. Tickets are not available at this time, but we’ll update with links and more info when available.

We’ve got a few other shows planned around our appearance at the O+ Festival including:
October 8 – The Casbah, Hamilton – DIVERGENCE VI w/ WISH and Jaunt
October 9 – Brooklyn, NY – Details TBA
October 10 – O+ Festival, Kingston, NY
October 11 – The Bug Jar, Rochester, NY – w/ King Buffalo

That’s all for now, but there’s going to be more coming up. After all, we are a Winter.

Spring has sprung

May 7th, 2014

Wow, that was one hell of a tour. Ten killer shows bookended by Austin Psych Fest and opening for legendary psych rockers Loop in our home town. We were pumped to receive such a great response to all the new material we were testing out. It was fantastic to see so many of our good friends we have made over the years and to add that many more new ones to our family. Thanks to everyone that came to one or more of the shows (there were quite a few of you), bought merch, gave us a place to crash, or most importantly bought us beer! We will be holding up in the studio for the next few months to finish our new record and will be on the road as soon as its complete.

flat labatts

February 28th, 2014

So the bad news is that the Dr. Disc in-store with Dead Leaf Echo was cancelled due to some logistical issues outside of our control. Sorry, Hamilton folks. Us and Dead Leaf Echo will still be playing at The Casbah in Hamilton on Sunday night, and the show at Smiling Buddha in Toronto is still on for tomorrow.

The good news is that we have a new way for you to give us money. We finally actually added content to the Bandcamp page we set up a few years back. You can listen to both Spectra Spirit and our out-of-print self-titled album now at . You can also give us a couple dollars if you’re so inclined. We will use that money to buy beer and weed record the next album. Thanks for checking us out and being dudes!
